Connect.Educate.Advocate.
Veteran Crisis Intervention Training (VCIT) VCIT equips law enforcement officers and first responders with the specialized knowledge and tools needed to safely and effectively respond to veterans and active-duty service members experiencing a mental health crisis. This evidence-informed training focuses on military culture, trauma, PTSD, TBI, and de-escalation techniques, helping first responders recognize service-related behaviors and respond with empathy, professionalism, and precision. By strengthening understanding and communication, VCIT improves outcomes for individuals in crisis while enhancing officer safety and community trust.
Veterans Court Programs Foundation 76 supports and advocates for Veterans Court Programs that provide justice-involved veterans with an alternative to traditional court proceedings. These programs recognize the impact of military service on behavior and focus on accountability through treatment, mentorship, and structured support rather than punishment alone. By connecting veterans with mental health services, peer mentors, and community resources, Veterans Courts reduce recidivism, promote recovery, and help veterans successfully reintegrate into society.
Military Community Town Hall Our Military Community Town Halls create a space for open dialogue between service members, veterans, families, community leaders, and local stakeholders. These forums address critical issues facing the military community, including mental health, access to resources, reintegration challenges, and public safety concerns. By bringing voices together in one place, Foundation 76 fosters collaboration, awareness, and problem-solving—strengthening relationships between the military community and the civilian institutions that serve them.
Incarcerated Service Members Mental Healthcare Program The Incarcerated Service Members Mental Healthcare Program addresses the unique mental health needs of veterans and service members within correctional facilities. Foundation 76 works to improve access to trauma-informed care, mental health screenings, and service-connected resources for incarcerated individuals. This program recognizes that untreated service-related trauma often contributes to incarceration and seeks to break that cycle by promoting treatment, dignity, and pathways to rehabilitation—both during incarceration and after release.
